We rescue dogs from streets, overcrowded shelters, and situations they never
should’ve been in to begin with.
Then comes the good part: medical care, foster homes, rehabilitation, and finding the people they were supposed
to be next to all along.
We don't find homes.
We find forevers.

Intake + Surrender
Some dogs come to us from overcrowded shelters with their time running out. Others are found wandering back roads, living under houses, dumped in parking lots, or belonging to families who love them but can no longer keep them. We’re not particularly concerned with how they got here. We’re more interested in where they’re going next.
Whenever possible, we also work with owners and finders before a dog ever enters the shelter system—helping with veterinary care, placement, and responsible rehoming. Because the best shelter outcome is sometimes never having to walk through the shelter doors at all.
Rescue + Rehabilitate
Rescue + Rehabilitate
We’ve never been very good at picking the easy ones. The sick ones, the seniors, the scared ones, the neglected ones, and the dogs who arrive with a medical chart longer than their adoption bio—they’re our kind of crowd. We provide veterinary care, good food, safe foster homes, and whatever time they need to get healthy and remember that people can be pretty decent.
Some need a little help. Some need the whole operation. We meet them where they are and get them ready for where they’re going.

Foster
A lot can change for a dog once they realize the couch is theirs, dinner shows up every night, and nobody's asking them to survive another day on their own. That's the magic of fostering. It gives our dogs a soft place to land, time to decompress, and a chance to figure out what life is supposed to feel like.
It's also where we discover who they really are. Couch potato or neighborhood mayor. Dog's dog or people person. Velcro baby or independent contractor. Every little personality quirk tells us something, and those details matter when you're trying to find someone's forever. Because we're not just looking for a place they'll be welcome. We're looking for the place they'll belong.
Got a little room and a little love to spare? We know someone who could use both.
Spay + Neuter
We love puppies. We just don’t need anybody making extras.
Every Saint Mutts dog who is medically and developmentally ready is spayed or neutered before adoption. For puppies who are still too young, alteration is required once they reach the appropriate age and stage of development.
It’s one of the most important things we can do to slow the cycle that keeps shelters full and good dogs waiting for homes. We can rescue them one at a time, but preventing the next accidental litter means fewer dogs will need rescuing in the first place.
Less accidental matchmaking.
More dogs getting the homes already waiting for them.

Transport
Sometimes home is a few states away.
We’re not letting geography ruin a perfectly good love story.
Once our dogs are healthy and ready, we work with trusted transporters, volunteers, and pilots to get them from where they are to where they’re meant to be. Many of our dogs come from areas overwhelmed by stray populations and overcrowded shelters, while their future families are hundreds—or thousands—of miles away. So we close the gap. By van, car, plane, and occasionally a logistical operation that could qualify as a federal project. Whatever gets them home safely.
Adopt
Every dog who comes through Saint Mutts has a story, but we don’t believe their worst chapter needs to be the one they’re known for. By the time they’re ready for adoption, we’ve gotten to know who they are, what they need, and the kind of people who will love them for exactly who they are.
We aren’t looking for homes. We’re looking for forevers.
The people who will love the weird little things we already fell in love with,
keep their promises when life gets complicated, and make sure this is
the last time that dog ever has to wonder where they belong.

the chaos coordinators
We're an all-volunteer team with Texas roots and an adoption and foster network stretching across the country and into Canada. We help dogs wherever we can and take finding the right home seriously. Ourselves, a little less so.
If you've been texting, emailing, or showing someone your fence over a video call, it was probably one of us.
